Well have heard back from the private clinic to say they have received our referral to go ahead with IUI.
They left a voicemail yesterday morning as I did not hear the phone to answer it, I was running in the rain for a bus.
So here's hoping we get a meeting with them before they close for Christmas but that they dont schedule for one of the days I have exams because that would be a definite no go.
Fingers crossed eh!
Things going on in life for me... marriage, college, ttc, my dogs etc...

Irish Property Boom and Crash
It's safe to say so many of us got caught up in the property boom in Ireland.
It's also safe to say we are a nation who got caught up in credit and wanting more.
A far cry from our pessimistic selves of the 1980's of scraping by while in a major recession, yes there I have said the dreaded R word. Recession.
Houses flew up to meet the demand, as quick as you could say mortgage application you were approved and developers and builders were cracking out houses like they were going to go out of fashion.
So many estates now lie unfinished or baron.
Our own estate for example, we paid our deposit in 2004, picked the house no. we wanted (garden big enough for 2 dogs), by 2005 our estate wasnt flying up as quickly as hoped, friends were moving into their new houses in other estates, like the one across the road.
They were furnishing their homes on credit and getting the best of everything, we were still paying "dead end money" on rent.
The reason the estate was so slow to build was because it was being built on marsh like land and they had to do a do over with the foundations, putting down piles to support the houses.
Most of the labourers onsite had no english or what they did have was not great but they did trojan work once the go ahead came from the powers that be to get going on laying those blocks.
There was an abundance of work available to all walks of life, so much so that people were being able to determine their income before even accepting the job offers etc...
Well we finally moved into our "home" a few weeks after our 3 year completion contract had passed (developers guaranteed you would be in your home in 3 years, most people were in their homes in under a year of purchase, 6 months even in some cases, for new builds).
We loved our new home, newly married the day before we moved in, no heating (yes they had not even finished our home when we moved in as we had to be out of our rented accomodation and had no where else to go). It was the coldest weekend in ages and we sat on our bean bags with a quilt infront of our telly.
Hot water bottles going to bed with us when we retired to bed.
Within a few weeks our toilets wouldnt flush properly, we did nothing about it, our heating was eventually turned on.
We had no street lights outside our home or even in our cul de sac and we had no neighbours in the attached town houses.
We had no curtains or couch yet, a borrowed cooker hob, oven, fridge and freezer.
We got our washing machine and dryer as house warming gifts.
The other houses had lawns laid yet we did not have anything from the builder.
We had paid extra for an extension at the back of the house, we even paid for the piles to be driven down to secure the foundations of that extension.
4 years in.. and here are a few of the "issues" we have had/continue to have with our "home".
1) The toilets still dont properly work (we have had them repaired ourselves several times)
2) When it rains heavily (remembering now we live in Ireland) water seeps in under the back door into the sunroom (thats what we called the extension room), the roof in the sunroom leaks and we have leak stains on our ceiling out there in more than one spot.
3) They did not put a film between foundation and blocks in the sun room so damp rises from the ground on the outside of our walls.
4) The ensuite bathroom leaked through to the sitting room ceiling.
5) Cracks are spreading on the walls and corners. The first instance of this was so bad we were able to get in contact with the builder to fix it as the whole sitting room corner wall had seperated (pre property crash when the builder was contactable)
6) The Smell... How do I describe it, it is obviously sewage but has a pungent stale garlic smell which eminates from bathroom sinks/bath/shower and toilet. I have been told there could be 2 explanations for this, the pipes were fitted the wrong way round which pushes the water back up the pipes OR there are no U bends in these bathroom fittings.
The smell is so horrendous even from flushing down as much waster as possible with a heavy wind outside it doesnt remove the smell or shift what ever is a little further down the pipes. We have to have scented candles lit to "try" to mask the stench.
There are many more "issues" with the house however its 2:45 am and I am only now feeling the need for bed so rant over - for now.
Night folks and sleep tight.

Studying sucks big time
So every time I sit down to study something comes up, a phone call, a knock at the door, the pup chews something she should'nt.
I really cant get into it at all this year, sitting here in my part time job writing this when I could be doing some finance examples while it is quiet.
Yet here I am blogging about nothing, a bit like a facebook status, all text and saying nothing really.
Here's hoping I get some inspiration as I only have 2ish more weeks before my exams start!
30/11/2011 Well here's an update, no inspiration found and still struggling to get my head around this study, still hoping on that last minute miracle of knowledge...

IT Fail...
So last night my hubby dearest said to me, laptop is gone very slow, I deleted pics from it and then closed the emptied recylce bin to discover both our folders full of college work etc... ALL GONE!
Took it into an IT place today and they could not recover anything, came home and managed to recover an older version of one of the word documents...
one word
DISASTER
Dearest Hubby is still sick, not any better than when he went to the doc, afraid its going to end up as plurasy or pneumonia... fingers crossed he gets better soon!
Dogs on the other hand... Need to get them out on a longer walk tomorrow, they are up way to early in the mornings, Molly is still escaping the dog run despite my efforts to block her escape route and Kerri has started barking again in the morning to let me know Molly has escaped...

Intersesting read on Infertility Etiquette!
Infertility Etiquette
This may come in handy for anyone in our situation having to listen to sayings such as:
"Relax and it will happen"
"Don't think about it and bet it will happen"
"You are young, am sure it will happen"
Ugghhhh enrages me, someone once asked me "So are you pregnant yet?", "Are we ever going to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet?", "Wouldn't ye want to get a move on?"
Once you get married the comments usually come flying, for us it was actually on our wedding day!
Not everyone knew we had been trying for 4 years prior to our wedding!
Personally I now just say to people; "well we would if we could but we can't, but will be sure to let you konw if that "miracle" ever happens, but thanks for asking!"

Sweet mother of divine...
Jesus I must be getting old...
Wrecked tired and just want to get home to bed.
Another hour of work, hubby is at home with "Man Flu" so looks like I will have to get a taxi home from my part time job.
Oh the joys!

Study
Ok seriously, how can I not concentrate, have found any excuse not to actually study, exams are only 5 weeks away and cant get my head into it.
Any tips on how to focus and actually have the work sink in, pass them on!
HA!
Took a quick break from study to have a sneaky biscuit or packet, someone called to the door so went out to chat, closing the sitting room door while I was gone, came back in to see the door open and a happy pup grinning with a bit of the wrapper in her mouth, she cleaned off the whole pack of biscuits!
Lesson learned, I am eating too much junk, I have a clever pup and get back to the study!

Well after such a great nights sleep (yeah right), cleaned up a bit,
Took my two lovely ladies out for a walk, contemplated cycling with them on a lead but decided to walk. Went out the road to a country road that leads to the back of the college. For a 6 month old pup Molly is so full of life and energy, we did a 10K round trip with a swim in the middle of it and she wasnt the least bit tired, biking it with her tomorrow me thinks!
Kerri loved it, fresh cool stream swim to cool off her skin condition, cant get her out of the water! Molly still isnt sure of the water!
Came home and my other half was resting so I got out the ladder and cleaned out the gutters at the back of the house! Full of earth and weeds were growing like crazy, mad how quick things grow that you dont want growing!
Hoping to get some study in tomorrow! Oh what an exciting life I lead!

Ah Sleepin Beauty
Misleading title...
Ok so I always to go bed late, bad habits and all that.
My youngest dog lets call her Molly has learned how to scale the fence of the dog run to get out when ever she feels like it, my older dog lets call Kerri never stops barking while Molly is running round free in the garden so on cold crisp nights like last night it was great gas for both of them to disturb everyone.
The barks were so clear it was like she was sitting in the bedroom barking. So off I went down to put Molly back in the dog run, Kerri still kept barnking, this was now2:30am, gave them treats and told them to go to bed.
This worked, went back to bed and at 4:30am Kerri was barking again! Went out Molly was still in the dog run, I could not figure out what she was barking about, then I realised there was a drunk outside singing his heart out and so I brought them in and only made it back as far as the sitting room couch with a a fleece blanket.
Woke up around 6am with a warm wet face to open my eyes to two lab ladies licking the face off of me... Sleeping Beauty I aint!

A Little bit of History
So I am in my 30's and been married a few years now.
I have 2 gorgeous labradors and I am prob going to post loads of pics of them...
I have been with my better half for just over 10 years now.
We have been trying to conceive for just over 8 years with no joy.
So 2 years ago we started investigations into fertility and were origionally told my husband was diagnosed with azoospermia.
In the last 4 months we have learned that this is not the case and may have been a laboratory error etc.. however we will never know.
He has been given the all clear and I have had tests done, bloods, internal scan, a hsg - where dye is injected up through your womb to look to see if there are any blockages, it was such a strange experience and sensation, plenty of painkillers were consumed before the procedure but the results were good.
Tubes were clear so its an "unexplained infterility".
So our next step is trying IUI, (Intrauterine Insemination) with Cork Fertility Clinic .
We are waiting on an appointment once our referral has come through from CUMH and hoping to start the treatment in the New Year, there is a 17% chance it will work on each treatment.
